Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Stolterfoht obtained Ph.D degree in 1978 from Freie Universität at Berlin. He was a Full Professor in the Université de Caen (France) from 1989 to 1993. He became the Project leader of ECR at the Hahn-Meitner-Institut from 1993 and retired in 2005. He was also an adjunct professor at the Western Michigan University and the University of Florida. His research field include: Atomic collision physics based on high-energy accelerators, Electron spectroscopy of highly ionized atoms, Excitation mechanisms and atomic structure, Ion collisions in solids and at surfaces, Nanostructures. He published 300 peer reviewed papers and present 145 invited talks at conferences.
