Prof. To Ngai received his B.Sc. (First Class Honours) in Chemistry from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 1999. He then pursued his Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Chi Wu at CUHK, earning his doctorate in Chemistry in 2003. From 2003 to 2005, he conducted postdoctoral research at BASF SE headquarters in Ludwigshafen, Germany, focusing on colloid and surface chemistry. In 2005, he had a short-term postdoctoral training at the Department of Chemistry, University of Minnesota, USA. In January 2006, he joined the Department of Chemistry at CUHK as an assistant professor, was promoted to associate professor in 2012, and to full professor in 2017. He currently serves as Assistant Dean (Research) of the Faculty of Science at CUHK.
