讲座内容:

Advances in polymer electronics are closely linked to innovations in doping techniques. Traditional methods for doping organic semiconductors often rely on strong oxidizing agents, which can result in challenges such as suboptimal film morphology and reduced device stability. In this presentation, I will address these limitations by exploring novel doping strategies that utilize weak dopants and catalytic methods to achieve controlled p-/n-doping under mild conditions. Additionally, I will discuss our research on organic mixed ionic-electronic conductors, with a focus on organic electrochemical transistors as tools for electrochemically controlling charge transport in these materials. I will highlight the significance of ladder-type polymers with rigid backbones for enhanced stability and performance, demonstrating their potential in organic electrochemical devices that mimic neural functions and advance brain-inspired computing. Together, these developments pave the way for versatile polymer electronics primed for future energy harvesting and bioelectronic applications.

讲座人介绍:

Simone Fabiano earned his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Palermo (Italy) in 2012. Then he carried out postdoctoral research at Linköping University (Sweden) with Prof. Magnus Berggren, and in 2016 he joined the group of Prof. Antonio Facchetti and Prof. Tobin J. Marks at Northwestern University (USA), where he worked as a Marie Curie Fellow and a VINNEMER Fellow until December 2017. He is now an Associate Professor at the Department of Science and Technology at Linköping University, where he guides the research activities of the Organic Nanoelectronics group. Since October 2020, he is also a Docent in Applied Physics. His research interests include the development of organic conductors and mixed ion-electron conductors for printed electronics and neuromorphic computing. Recently, Fabiano’s group have published research papers on high-impact journals including Nature, Nat. Electron. and Nat. Mater. He is also the co-founder and chief scientific officer of n-Ink AB, Linköping, Sweden.
