(公司创始人王川博士和王龙先生是我校上世纪80年代电信学院毕业的校友)   2009年电信学院“信源通”系列学术讲座: 时间:2009年4月17日(星期五)上午10:00 地点:电信学院第一会议室(西一楼344)   报告一、题目:Energy, Entropy and Information Potential for Signal Processing 报告人:Dongxin Xu博士、 Software and Language Engineering Manager (Chief Engineer) , Infoture Inc (now LENA Foundation), Boulder, CO, USA   摘要:One fundamental issue in signal processing is to measure the relationship between variables (signals). From Information Theoretic point of view, this talk will show how signal energy and/or information measure (entropy) could be used in signal processing in a general framework and the comparison between them. It will be shown that a general approach of information measure based solely on data samples could be derived. The analogy could be made so that data samples can be regarded as physical particles in Physics; and the information measure of the data samples could be regarded as potential energy of the "information particles" as if there is a "information potential fields" exists for general signal processing and machine learning. The applications to Synthetic Aperture Radar image processing (including pose-estimation, automatic target recognition), blind source separation and blind equalization will be discussed.   报告二、题目:Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology 报告人:Bing Ouyang 博士、 Senior Algorithm Engineer with TI DLP algorithm team, Texas Instruments, USA   摘要:Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology is a type of microdisplay technology. Over last decade, DLP has been adopted in a wide range of applications such as data projector, digital cinema, HDTV. During recent years, DLP has also found applications in several other adjacent domains such as pocket projector, 3-D cinema and TV. The presentation will first provide an overview of DLP technology. The operation principle of a DLP display system will first be presented. Some of the DLP applications will be introduced. In addition, some of the future trend of the development of the DLP technology will be analyzed. Besides DLP, there are two other major microdisplay technologies: Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) Projection and Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCOS). The comparison of DLP against LCD projection and LCOS will be discussed. One critical aspect of the DLP is the various algorithms implemented in the video post processing ASIC. This presentation will discuss the algorithm development methodology adopted in DLP algorithm team. The functional blocks of the video processing ASIC will also be analyzed. Finally several post processing algorithms will be discussed. Firstly the development of an automatic source acquisition algorithm will be used to demonstrate the general progression of an algorithm development project; then the implementation detail of a couple other algorithms such as Deinterlacer and noise reduction filtering will be analyzed.
