First, I will present a theory that unifies the previous scaling laws governing the dynamics of liquid bridge connecting merging droplets. The theory is amazingly simple but innovatively integrates the integral equation and asymptotic analyses flow self-similarity and interfacial vortex. Second, I will present a numerical investigation on the internal jet-like mixing after droplet coalescence. The emergence of the internal jet is attributed to the formation of a main vortex ring. A vortex-ring-based Reynolds number is found to satisfactorily interpret the occurrence of the internal jet at various droplet viscosities and size ratios.
