Knowledge Management in Process Engineering
The dynamic development of chemical and process engineering observed in the last twenty years has resulted in the generation of a vast amount of data, information, and knowledge. The heterogeneity of the representation and diverse context of applications makes their use a non-trivial task. The additional challenge is a permanently growing demand for the improvement of quality of information retrieval as well as shortening the time needed for getting access to relevant knowledge. The needs of practitioners, researchers and administrators to generate, discover, maintain, use, communicate and up-date knowledge makes knowledge management an important research issue. The major topics presented during the seminar concentrate on tools and methods for enhancement of engineers´ creativity, literature based knowledge discovery, knowledge reuse in product and process design and knowledge mapping for management of R&D activities
