报告简介: Ultra-wideband (UWB) is a radio technology in which the transmitter produces a very short time-domain pulse that can propagate without the need of an additional RF (radio frequency) mixing stage. The UWB technology has a number of features that makes it attractive for the applications in eHealth, e.g., wireless sensor networks (WSN), wireless body area networks (WBAN), indoor positioning and tracking (IPT), etc. In particular, a UWB system has (i) potentially low complexity, low cost and low energy consumption; (ii) very good time-domain resolution suited for precise location and tracking; (iii) a noise-like signal spectrum; and (iv) good resistance to severe multipath and jamming. Thus, UWB had attracted extensive research for a long time. Then people are not so often hearing of it. Now UWB returns from the grave, thanks to the advent of UWB transceiver chips, e.g., decaWave's DW1000 which is a complete, single chip CMOS UWB IC (with a 6 mm x 6 mm size). The UWB, therefor, can be integrated into smart phones, and used with wearable sensors to form a WSN or a WBAN, which in turn send sensor data to the smart phones through UWB communications.
