报告摘要：
A new generation of scientific facilities are being planned that offer unique opportunities for the discovery and design of advanced materials. I will provide some background to one such concept ( MaRIE , Matter Radiation Interaction in extreme Environments) that will provide unprecedented time- and space-resolved measurements on scales most acutely needed for modeling and simulation. In addition, I will emphasize how the confluence with advances in computation and various materials genome initiatives offer unique opportunities in the way we will perform interdisciplinary science.
