During the past decade, significant advances in medical imaging technologies have been made in such areas as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron emission tomography (PET), computed tomography (CT), single photon computed tomography (SPECT), and optical imaging. Small animal imaging provides a powerful tool to study human diseases in animal models at the cellular and molecular levels. Our research is to exploit multimodality molecular imaging for disease prevention, detection, diagnosis, and therapy.
