Cyanobacterial or algal toxins are an increasing problem in drinking water supplies worldwide. Important cyanobacterial toxins include microcystins, cylindrospermopsin, anatoxin A, and saxitoxin. It is important for water utilities to understand how best to remove these toxins from drinking water in their treatment processes. This presentation will address the effects of water treatment oxidation and adsorption processes on the release and removal of cyanobacterial toxins.
