Radioactive decay processes started to be studied a Century ago, when the Geiger-Nuttall law was presented. Nearly two decades after that Gamow produced his famous barrier penetration theory which was of a fundamental importance in quantum physics. This can also be considered the starting point of the theoretical developments in cluster radioactivity. However, the Gamow theory ignores the probability that the alpha particle is formed in the nuclear surface of the decaying nucleus. In this talk the cluster decay width will be derived within a microscopic formalism and from here generalizations of the Geiger-Nuttall law, including all kind of even clusters and also proton decay, will be presented.
