In this talk, we present control studies of several interesting nonlinear dynamical systems. Two types of controls are considered: the parametric control, and the control as excitation to the system. Examples of the parametric control include variable stiffness vibration control, control of two-species population dynamics for the purpose of co-survival, control of the Lorenz chaotic system. Other control examples are control of stochastic van del Pol oscillator, control of a mechanical system subject to random disturbances, and a fully digital optimal control of a precision farming machine. The control induced bifurcations in the stochastic systems are also investigated.
