报告题目:Nano-engineered mechanics: Why Nano?
报告时间:2010年11月26日(星期五)下午15:00
报告地点:教一楼南208会议室
主要内容:
(1) Nano-engineered mechanics: Why Nano?
Presenter David Hui, 60 minutes talk
why nano engineering is a new field, what is nanotechnology? How the length scale play a critical role in hybrid materials. The talk focus on the transition from metal to composite to nanomaterials. The emphasis is on nanomechanics and how nanomaterials can be put to useful engineering applications. The talk will include three reasons for using nano, and will include nano-engineering in damage mechanics and impact dynamics. The critical component of design is safety of materials usage.
(2) how to write papers to enhance journal acceptance
Presenter David Hui, 60 minutes talk
include 11 tips, and detailed descriptions on what an editor will look for, and why a paper is accepted or rejected. This talks will enable students and professors to pay special attention on abstracts, introduction, methodology, results and conclusions.
