讲座内容:
Professor Jin’s current research interest is in gene regulation and structure-function relationships of contractile and cytoskeleton proteins. Research in his laboratory is focused on actin thin filament regulatory proteins: troponin and calponin. Molecular biology and genetic approaches are used to investigate protein isoform evolution and expression as well as to provide engineered protein constructs for functional characterization. Biochemical, biophysical and immunochemical methods are used in studying protein structure and function. some of his research results have led to translational applications in the diagnosis of myocardial infarction, the treatment of heart failure, the treatment of cancer metastasis, and the diagnosis of C. difficile infection.
