Professor Bernard Lotz is Director of Research (Emeritus) at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). He spent his career at the Institute Charles Sadron and has held visiting and invited professor positions at several international institutions. He received the 1973 Prize of the French Polymer Group and the 1989 Fraser P. Prize from the University of Amherst, and was elected a Fellow of the American Physical Society in 1986. His research focuses on phase transitions, and the structure and morphology of crystalline polymers and biopolymers across various length scales. He has authored or coauthored over 330 papers and book chapters.
