讲座摘要: Interferometric techniques are capable of providing high spectral resolution measurements of radiation from planetary atmospheres. The field widened Michelson interferometer is one such technique. It is a high throughput device which is capable of imaging the fringe form of isolated emission lines or groups of a few emission lines. Applications of this technique to observing airglow features in the terrestrial and Martian atmospheres have been developed. The observables include wind, temperature and emission brightness from which information on constituents can be obtained. In this talk, these applications will be discussed with particular attention  being paid to the use of this technique as a satellite instrument.

世界著名光学专家、地球物理学家,加拿大纽布朗什维克大学研究生院院长,前加拿大空间和大气物理学会主席,国际太阳-地球物理学术委员会加拿大国家代表、工作组组长,国际中层大气委员会、加拿大物理学会、美国地球物理学会和气象学会会员,国际著名期刊《Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics》编委,约克大学博士,剑桥大学博士后。主要研究领域为地球物理与大气物理,在新型干涉仪研制及对大气成分、温度和风场光学遥感探测等方面在国际上取得了重大突破和杰出成就,在国际著名期刊发表高水平学术论文220余篇。
