许华平课题组围绕着含硒/碲高分子的设计、合成及组装开展研究，发展硒/碲的高分子合成化学，认识硒与其它元素共价或非共价相互作用的本质，建立起含硒/碲分子组装体与细胞内活性氧物种（ROS）浓度的关联。含硒/碲高分子已被国际同行广泛认为是两类新的对ROS具有良好响应性的生物医用高分子材料。
Redox responsive polymers have attracted wide interest for their promising applications in controllable encapsulation and delivery in physiological environments, where the redox process is constantly and widely present. A series of selenium-containing polymers, including main chain and side chain block copolymers, dendrimers and hyperbranched polymers, have been designed and synthesized for controlled self-assembly and disassembly under various responsive stimuli, which may act as new biomaterials for controlled drug delivery and enzyme mimics.
